Mid-Autumn Festival by the River

Sat, 22 Sep 12

Today, we went to Clarke Quay to have a look at the lantern displays........

Before going there.....along Orchard Road...

This year's giant float display depict themes from different Chinese festivals such as the Lunar New Year, Hungry Ghost Festival and Chinese Valentines' Day...
As for the Chinese zodiac lanterns, Mummy preferred the ones last year....

Homemade Lantern

We were supposed to make our own lanterns at home using recycled materials this year for the K2 level........
Mummy thought of the idea of using the plastic container, ang bao packets to decorate and parts from old battery operated lantern......
And.....tada......here's my homemade lantern (all thanks to Gong Gong who helped me in it)!

The Arabian Nights

Sat, 15 Sep 12

Daddy has free tickets to the musical show "The Arabian Nights" and we (mainly I) had a blast watching the show.......It was so hilarious I burst out laughing almost throughout the show....

The show is about a King, Shahriyar, who loved to laugh, until he was betrayed by his wife and lost all his love of women and happiness.... He became a cruel tyrant, marrying a different woman every night and having her executed the next morning.. The King's advisor had a daughter, Shahrazad, who possessed the gift of storytelling... It was now her turn to marry the King and die....

On the night of their wedding, she asked her sister to come an hour before dawn and ask her for a story... Her sister did this and the King became enchanted by the story........ When morning came and the Executioner arrived, the King sent him off as Shahrazad tempted him with the promise of another story that night....

If she can tell the King a new story each night for one thousand and one nights, Shahrazad will save her own life and the lives of the daughters of the city.........

Of course, the 90 minutes show cannot accommodate 1001 stories.......Among the stories told were the more famous ones like Ali Baba, Sinbad and Aladdin.....
The cast was wonderful and had the audience greatly entertained!
I enjoyed the show alot!

HFMD strikes again :(

I am down with HFMD again........ :(
The last time I contracted it was in 2010, and coincidentally it was in September as well..... see post here: http://ryanchl.blogspot.sg/2010/09/hfmd.html

This time though, I had severe ulcers inside my mouth and throat........Ouch, so painful! Even the doctor commented it is very very painful, seeing that there are so many ulcers........Nothing on my hand and foot though....

Mummy said I am a very brave boy, but sometimes it's so painful I will tear abit....

Hopefully I will recover soon, no more painful ulcers!! Please help to pray for my fast recovery.......
